After YEARS of trying every TS-style circuit (Analog Man. old TS-10 I bought as a kid 20 years ago, Kalamazoo, JHS...), doing the crank the amp thing, etc, I could NEVER get the sound I was looking for, my guitar's natural tone got lost in that uber compressed pillowy mid-hump. My search for a TS-style pedal is OVER....Cowboy King has found a permanent place on my board! It has it all, clarity, TONS of gain that channels SRV 'Voodoo Child' Austin City Limits on its own, etc. Also really like the way it responds to volume knob changes on the guitar, another thing the TS lacks. Great work Pedal Pawn on this one, a true masterpiece!
This is hands down the coolest 808 out there. The tones I am getting with this pushed with a KLON type are killer. Add a good vibe, fuzz, wah and some good reverb and you got it. This pedal soars with singles coils. Rips with p90’s and rocks with humbuckers. But I find it beast suits my strats. A top shelf Texas ripper. Hendrix gold.
I have a thing for collecting tube screamers. The cowboy king does the screamer thing with even more range if required. And has much more clarity than the rest. Well done guys.
May be the best overdrive pedal I have ever used. An amazing pedal with the best range of tones and drive.
For years I have been looking for SRV tones at super low volume. Normally you need a lot of volume for Stevie's sound but I found running my guitar into a TC Electronic Spark then into any one of these pedals, the Greer Lightspeed, Duellist, Lovepedal Super 6, Xotic RC booster, LPD Dutch or a Zendrive , all sounded fantastic BUT something was missing , and TS style pedals just didn't do it for me. Then I bought a Cowboy King. I use it after the Spark and one of my other overdrives and Holy Cow(boy). BANG instant SRV magic ! This pedal is fantastic on it's own into a Tube(valve) Amp also.
